The Zambian Court of Appeal can be easily described as among the highest civil and criminal courts across the nation. This Court of Appeal along with the Supreme Court of Zambia manage majority of the national level cases. They are also responsible for unsolved district level cases. One of such cases was of Portland Cement Zambia, a noted cement- manufacturing factory in Zambia. The case was first reported at the Lusaka High Court by Dr. Rajan Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist. After the case failed to provide justice by declaring Ventriglias as the only shareholders of the Zambezi Portland Cement, Dr. Rajan Mahtani took the right step in approaching the Higher Court of Zambia.

The Court of Appeal announced its decision on 31st January 2017 during which, it effectively reversed the judgement by the Lusaka High Court Judge. As per the judgement by Justice Mwinde, Finsbury Investments is the majority shareholder of Zambezi Portland Cement with 58 percent shares. On the other hand, Ventriglias are the minority shareholders of the factory with 42 percent shares at the factory. This confirms the legal ownership of the factory by Finsbury Investments which is owned by Dr. Rajan Mahtani.

Furthermore, several new details were shared by the judge who cleared various misconceptions and fake media activities in recent past. Finsbury Investments paid a total sum of K580, 000,000 with interest to the court in compliance with the judgement. This payment was made also against commercial registration of the Zambezi Portland Cement. At the same time, Finsbury Investments also claimed a total sum of K1 billion against payment made for the share capital for Zambezi Portland Cement. This share capital was further confirmed by the share transfers made during 2006 and 2007. The Court of Appeal has given a timeline of three months from the judgement date for the parties to finalise their process of share regularization.
