Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is one of the most respected and noted businessperson in Zambia. His companies are present not only in Zambia but also across several other African nations and internationally. Dr. Rajan Mahtani recently supported a critical announcement made by the President of Zambia. President Hakainde Hichilema recently made a bold statement in which he stated that he is planning to abolish death penalty law. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has completely supported this decision. Adding his voice to this cause, Dr. Mahtani stated that he and his company Prison Fellowship Zambia pledge their full support towards abolishing death penalty. The organization will also support the President by evaluating tangible & legal reforms.
Prison Fellowship Zambia is a noted Christian Outreach Program in Zambia which was established more than three decades ago. The focus of the organization is bringing the teachings and gospel from Almighty Jesus Christ to the inmates, ex-inmates as well as their families in Zambia. This will be achieved by advocating effective and fair criminal justice process in Zambia. At the same time, the organization focusses on providing fundamental human rights as well as fundamental human duties for the prisoners.
The announcement by President Hichilema came on Africa day and it is received overwhelming positive reactions. At the same time, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has stated that there is a huge difference between suggesting abolishment of a significant law and actually making it happen. As such, Prison Fellowship under the leadership of Dr. Rajan Mahtani will support the President in making it happen. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has praised the President for his decision and stated that only an individual who is compassionate, respects fundamental human rights as well as respects human dignity will have the strength and courage to make such a bold announcement as well as make an attempt towards ending this inhuman, degrading and cruel punishment.
