Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is the proud winner of the latest Forbes ‘best of Africa’ awards. Forbes Africa recently conferred Dr. Rajan Mahtani with Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani received this award for redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Apart from this, Forbes further recognized the contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani in business and philanthropy. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is among the most respected and notable businessmen in Zambia as well as Africa. He is known for several top companies in Zambia, including Mahtani Group and Finsbury Investments among others. His company Mahtani group was established in the year 1981 and quickly transformed itself into one of the top conglomerates across Africa. The group made its presence felt across regions like South Africa, Malawi, and Zambia among others. Furthermore, the Mahtani Group also expanded itself to different sectors such as insurance services, agriculture, mining, real estate, energy, and financial services. Across each of these sectors, the company worked towards improving the sectoral standards, providing employment and livelihood opportunities as well as improving the overall local communities. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is the current Group Chairman at Mahtani Group.
Furthermore, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also recognized for his philanthropic and charitable contributions. He is the founder as well as current Chairman of the Prison Fellowship Zambia. It is a program affiliated with Prison Fellowship International (PFI), Washington, and focuses on the welfare and criminal justice for inmates, ex-inmates as well as families. Similarly, Dr. Rajan Mahtani established the Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia. The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards was presented during the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. It is one of the most anticipated and notable business conferences across Africa. The conference saw participation from numerous businessmen, industrialists, and international business committee members. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also invited to this event as an honorary speaker.
