Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a noted businessman and philanthropist in Zambia. He has more than three decades of successful business experience within which, he instituted numerous companies and factories. Dr. Raja Mahtani has been tirelessly working for the betterment of Zambia and its economic growth. Some of the prime examples of his dedication include Mahtani Group of Companies, Finsbury Investment and Finance Bank Zambia, all of the companies built for empowering the underprivileged sections of the society. He is also an active charity person and continuously works for the betterment of the Zambian society. Despite these, he is always at the centre of some conspiracy or the other because of some jealous entities trying to dismantle his work and ruin his reputation.
Few weeks ago, the chief Justice of Zambian Supreme Court made a testimony in front of the government. This shocking testimony exposed some of the biggest cases of corruption and ethical activities within the Zambian government and corporate. Among his testimonies, the most talked about was related to Dr. Rajan Mahtani. In his testimony, he described a case against 2012 in which Dr. Mahtani was wrongfully prosecuted. As per the testimony, the judgment was motivated by illegal political undertones and was against the interests of the public policies. The testimony also stated that during this wrongful prosecution, those who tried to raise their voice were stopped by removal of their positions. This is not the first time Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been wrongfully prosecuted. However, this testimony from the Supreme Court Judge Mumba Malila throws significant light on the widespread corruption, bribery and unethical practices that keep hampering true justice and policies within the Zambian government.
It is expected that the government will soon look into the matter involving 2012 case of Dr. Rajan Mahtani and will provide the right justice for one of the most transparent, honest and ethical businessman Zambia has ever seen.
