Dr.Rajan Mahtani has spent the last 40 years promoting the growth and development of Zambia’s economy, society, and philanthropy. Finsbury Investments and the Mahtani Group of Companies are two of the main businesses run by Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. Dr.Rajan Mahtani received one of the prestigious Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards for his consistent and enduring efforts to Zambia and its people. Dr. Rajan Mahtani received the honour in 2021 at the Forbes-FIN Philanthropy and Leadership roundtable conference. Notably, Dr. Rajan Mahtani spoke at the conference as an honorary guest speaker and emphasised the value of leadership in the healthcare industry. Due to the current COVID-19 epidemic, both the roundtable conference and the Forbes awards ceremony were hosted online, and the participants participated or joined the event from their different regions. Dr. Rajan Mahtani received the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ 2021 award for his noteworthy contributions to the economy and people of Zambia. Dr.Rajan Mahtani received the honour in large part because of his important efforts to reshape Zambia’s banking industry.Dr. Mahtani also received recognition for his charitable work, which has included Prison Fellowship Zambia. It is one of the noted Christian Outreach Programs (COPs) focussing on providing fundamental human rights and basic human dignity for the prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families in Zambia.
The Zambian president declared his intention to totally eliminate the death penalty row in the early months of 2022. During this time, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani and his charitable organisation Prison Fellowship Zambia made headlines once more for their public support of the Zambian President’s decision. Dr. Mahtani added that Prison Fellowship, his business, would support this choice fully in terms of law and regulations.
